Privacy policy
Last updated 30 October 2026
Regen collects what it needs to show you your car: its battery, charging, drives and status. This page explains what that is, why, where it’s kept and how you control it.
- No ads, no tracking and no selling of data.
- You sign in with Tesla. Regen never receives your Tesla password.
- You can export or delete everything from the app.
Who is responsible
Regen is made by Kim-Robin Furø (Furo Engineering) in Silsand, Norway, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us through the contact form and choose “Privacy request”.
What we collect
Your Tesla account
When you sign in with Tesla we receive your Tesla account’s email address and name, an account identifier, and the region you signed in to. You enter your password on Tesla’s own page, so we never see it. We store the access tokens Tesla gives us, encrypted, so Regen can keep fetching your car’s data.
Your car
The car’s VIN, name, model and software version. While the car is awake, it sends Regen its location, speed, gear, acceleration, odometer, battery level, range and energy, charging state, power and energy added, temperatures inside and out, climate settings, lock and Sentry status, open doors and tyre pressures.
From this, Regen builds your drives (with route), charging sessions (with location and cost), battery health estimates, statistics and a timeline of events such as locking and plugging in.
What you enter
Your settings (units, currency, electricity prices), saved places such as home and work, automations, and your battery’s original capacity if you add it.
Your devices
A push notification token for each device where you allow notifications, and a list of signed-in devices (device name and when it was last used).
Commands
When you or an automation sends a command to the car, we log which command it was, when, and whether it worked.
Subscription
Whether you have Regen Pro and when it renews or ends. Payment is handled by Apple. We never see your card details.
This website
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and language. If you use the contact form, we store your email address, the topic, your car model if you give it, and your message. This website uses no cookies and no analytics.
What we don’t collect
Regen doesn’t use your phone’s location, contacts or photos, and contains no advertising or analytics tools.
Why we use it
- To provide the app you asked for (contract): your account, your car’s data and everything Regen calculates from it, your settings and the commands you send.
- With your consent: push notifications, which you can turn off in iOS Settings, and the waitlist.
- Legitimate interest: keeping Regen secure and working, for example limiting how often forms can be sent, and answering messages you send us.
Where it’s kept
Regen’s data is stored on Regen’s server in Norway. Traffic to and from the server passes through Cloudflare’s network, and this website is hosted on Cloudflare.
Who else is involved
- Tesla: we get your car’s data from Tesla and send the commands you ask for through Tesla. Tesla handles your data under its own privacy notice.
- Apple: delivers push notifications and handles App Store purchases.
- Cloudflare: network security and website hosting.
Apple and Cloudflare may process data outside the EEA. They do so under recognised safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU’s standard contractual clauses. We don’t share your data with anyone else and never sell it.
How long we keep it
- Your account and car data: for as long as you have a Regen account. When you delete your account in the app, your data is deleted from Regen’s database straight away, and your car stops sending data to Regen.
- Waitlist: until we’ve sent the launch email. Then the list is deleted.
- Contact messages: up to 12 months, then they are deleted automatically.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it. In the app you can do most of this yourself:
- Export: Settings → Your data → Export my data
- Delete: Settings → Your data → Delete account
For anything else, use the contact form. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
Security
All connections are encrypted. Tesla access tokens are encrypted at rest, and Regen sign-in sessions are stored only as hashes.
Children
Regen is for people who own or drive a Tesla and isn’t meant for children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top.
